Philadelphia is amazing!

Philly has fantastic food, from the classic cheesesteak to Chinese food that Anthony Bourdain called "the best Sichuan style Chinese food outside of China." It's chock full of American history, but also the history of computing. Its museums are vibrant and world-class, and the whole city is wonderfully walkable. General Accessibility

Transportation

Public transportation in Philadelphia is through SEPTA, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, and all of their buses are all accessible. More information about accessibility and SEPTA is available on their website.

SEPTA sells a weekly TransPass which will give you unlimited use of buses, trolleys, and subways, which will get you anywhere you need to go in the city proper for $24 per week. The TransPass week runs Monday at 12:01am through Sunday at 11:59pm.

Weekly TransPasses, Daily Passes, and single trip tokens are available at 30th Street Station and the 34th Street Subway. Tokens are available at the UPenn Bookstore (Barnes & Noble) located one block from Huntsman Hall. Details are available here.

Unfortunately, there is no free parking at the venue itself. There is a parking garage across the street. The maximum daily fee is $29; on this page it is tagged as the "Walnut 38 Garage". There is free on-street parking available a few blocks from the venue.

Child Care

We're proud to offer complimentary child care through Saint Mary’s Church Nursery School (3916 Locust Walk, Philadelphia, PA 19104) for kids 18 months through 6 years old! Child care sign-ups are now closed.

We are only offering child care during the 3 days of the conference and the sprint days, Monday, July 18 - Friday, July 22. Drop-off starts at 7:30 am, and children should be picked up no later than 6:00 pm. Their location is just a couple blocks away from Huntsman Hall, where the conference will take place. They will be able to care for children at their nursery during the conference, at no cost to you!

Dietary Requirements

We aim to meet all dietary requirements. You will be able to specify these when purchasing your ticket.

Quiet Room

We will have a clearly marked quiet room (F-36 on Monday-Friday; F-55 on Sunday afternoon) available from Sunday afternoon through Friday evening. This room is intended to be a calm and quiet place for anyone who needs to have a break from the bustle of the conference, and will not be used for socializing.

Lactation Room

There's a quiet, window-free room in the data center, but it's only accessible with a Wharton badge. Please see the registration desk if you'd like access to this room.

Restrooms

The Wharton School does not currently have gender-neutral restrooms. Please use the restroom for the gender with which you identify.

  • Sunrise Semester: 7:15am Mon - Fri, and many others. 1904 Walnut Street. A 20-minute walk from the venue, or 5-10 minute bus ride on SEPTA Bus #21. This meeting is the farthest from the venue, but it is the most diverse meeting. There are a fair amount of people in the tech industry who attend. All meetings listed here are welcoming to out-of-town guests, but Sunrise goes above and beyond to welcome out-of-towners with breakfast invites and such.
